IB DP Digital Society – Course (HL)

The IB DP Digital Society (HL) course provides an in-depth exploration of how digital technologies shape social structures, power relations, and global decision-making. Students critically examine complex digital issues through key concepts such as power, ethics, identity, governance, sustainability, and equity, developing sophisticated analytical and research skills.

At Higher Level, students are challenged to:

• Analyse complex digital systems and their societal impacts

• Evaluate ethical dilemmas, regulation, and governance frameworks

• Conduct independent research using primary and secondary sources

• Apply Digital Society concepts to local and global case studies

• Develop high-level academic writing, argumentation, and reflection

The course prepares students for university-level study in social sciences, technology-related fields, law, media, and policy, while fostering responsible, critical, and informed digital citizens.
